May 20, 2016 Joint hosting of the International Conference on the Strategic Importance of China-Nepal-India Relationship

The two-day seminar, jointly organized by SAIM with S. Rajaratnam International School of Studies (RSI), Nanyang Univeristy, Singapore, and Institute for Integrated Development Studies (IIDS), was held at the Annapurna Hotel and saw participation from prominent national and international scholars – including renowned academicians from Nepal, India, Singapore and China; along with dignitaries and interested members of various brackets of society. The successful and highly well-received conference was inaugurated by the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Bijay Kumar Gachyadhar and hosted comprehensive and enlightening presentations, discussions, and offered concrete recommendations on a host of related topics like security, trade, energy development in Nepal, economic impacts of the 2015 earthquake, and trans-border connectivity.
