Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)

Program Features The BBA is a four-year program structured into eight semesters. A student needs to complete 120 credit hours of coursework, project work and internship for graduation. Besides lectures, the classes are facilitated by case studies, group discussions, project assignments, field visits, class presentations and other teaching methods. Students are emphasized to participate in class activities, group discussions and individual presentations to develop communication and interpersonal skills. The medium of instruction and examination for this program will be English, and a student is expected to have good English language proficiency with acceptable communication skills. The Semester System The prominent feature of the semester system is the continuous evaluation of a student’s performance and flexibility given to the students to progress at a pace suited to their ability as per the credit requirements. The credit hour assigned to each course of this program varies depending on its lecture, tutorial and practical work hours in a week. One lecture/contact hour per week per semester is assigned one credit. That is, a three-credit hours course has 48 class hours.

The BBA is a four-year program structured in eight semesters. The BBA program consists of 120 credit hours including course work, project work and internship work. This course is designed to provide students with practical skills and knowledge in a variety of business administration areas. Students will also be exposed to business and other social science courses to enhance their intellectual ability and managerial skills. Project Work and Internship (13 Credit Hours)

Students need to take project works and internship that carry the weight of 13 credit hours. The projects involve fieldworks and their empirical analysis. Students must follow the prescribed formats to prepare such reports. Besides this, students also need to do internships in business organizations for six to eight weeks. Aimed to provide an opportunity to gain real-life experience, this course also helps the students to apply theoretical understanding to action. The internship carries the weight of 6 credit hours.

BBA Evaluation and Grading

The performance of students is evaluated and graded according to the assessment and grading system of Pokhara University. Internal faculty members evaluate student performance through quizzes and oral test, workshop practices, assignments, Term paper, project work, tutorials, lab work, class participation, internship project and the graduate project report. External evaluations are based on the board examination administered by the Office of the Controller of Examinations. The final grades will consist of 60% from internal evaluation and 40% from the end-term examination.

Enrollment Procedure

A notice inviting applications for admission is publicly announced. Application forms and information brochures are provided, on request, after the payment of the prescribed fee. The concerned college scrutinizes the application. The eligible candidates are informed to take the entrance test. The date and time for the entrance test are informed to the applicants by the concerned colleges. The college may also interview the candidates for the final selection for admission. The candidates who are given provisional admission under special conditions are required to submit all necessary documents within a month after their regular classes begin. A student who fails to do so will have his/her admission cancelled.

Eligibility

The entry requirement for a new student in BBA will be Intermediate or Higher Secondary level (10+2) or Proficiency Certificate Level (PCL), or equivalent as recognized by Pokhara University. In addition, the student must pass the entrance test conducted by the concerned college.

Document Requirement

The applicant is required to submit the following documents with the application form made available by the concerned college/school by paying a predetermined fee:

  • Complete the application form and attach two passport size photographs.
  • Original copy of all certificates and transcripts of SEE or equivalent.
  • Original copy of all certificates, transcripts, and migration to +2 level or equivalent.
  • Certificate of equivalence from CDC if the student has passed grade XII from a board other than NEB, Nepal.
College Admission Test

After submission of documents, the applicants should take computer based college admission test.The test is designed to assess the applicants’ ability in verbal and quantitative reasoning.

Personal Interview

After the applicants are shortlisted based on their score on the admission test, they are required to appear for a personal interview The applicants will be offered the admission and scholarship based on the assessment of interview, and college admission test.

The college management provides different scholarshipsfor the deserving students based on their merits and requirements. The scholarships are categorized based on;

Performance Based Scholarships

This scholarship is provided to all students who are willing to joint SAIM College.It is based on CGPA/Percentage secured in NEB or Equivalent examination. The scholarship is provided to the students in admission amount.

Semester Based Scholarships

Scholarships will be awarded based on the trimester results of the previous trimester.Trimester topper will be awarded with 1/3 of fee waiver of total trimester fee applicable in upcoming trimester

Tuition and Fee Structure

The college offers BBA program in the total cost of NRs. 600,000, payable in 24 instalments in the period of 4 years. Pokhara University charges are not included in the total cost. The fee does not include books, stationery, accommodation and other personal expenses.
