South Asian Institute of Management held an international conference on Measuring the Informal Sector in Developing Countries jointly with International Association for Research on Income and Wealth (IARIW) from September 24th to 25th, 2009 in Kathmandu. The conference was a great success. It was held at Godavari Resort, with 50-75 participants from different countries. Apart from the international reputation, many other distinguished guests, bankers, politicians, business leaders, policymakers, government officials, and students of SAIM participated in the seminar. It was inaugurated at Hotel Yak and Yeti by Honorable President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav. It gave us an excellent opportunity to have wider exposure and interact with professionals, researchers, and academicians of international repute. The participants found the seminar to be effective, enjoyable, and fruitful.
